Hey hey hey!!!
YEah sorry about last week just ran out of time. We went and played some football though. It was fun i feel better than new so i thought i could handle it. YEah so last week we had the ward christmas party it was alright not many people went but we had fun. No baptisms yet but we should be having one soon. I got hit with a cold pretty good this last week yeah cant seem to control the snot and sneezing. ANd the 12th of december is the day of the virgin and people come from all over the world to go to the basilica which is a huge cathedral dedicated to her. Yeah its crazy like they go parading literally all day until late at night and then they go worship her. So it gets crazy cause they are hundreds of thousands of people that take part in it and the basilica is pretty close to my area and so the parade came through and yeah i pretty much thought that they were going to get stoned but nothing happened.BUt the work is really hard around that time cause most middle age and older people participate. SO im convinced that this is the biggest city in the world and the most contaminated. Maybe thats why i got sick and i forgot to take pictures of it the pollution was so thick that you couldnt see more than probably five hundred yards. ANyways i didnt get the packages yet im hoping soon though and for the call i think i might try getting a members phone number cause thats prob. why that last one got used so fast cause is was straight to the cel phone. But yeah thats all i have hope you all have a great week and that you are in the christmas mood. Love you later

Hey,
Yeah so i didnt get to go to internet yesterday but yeah thanks for everything. Im sure i will love the package. So today we had changes i have a new comp. elder briones from guadalajara. He is way cool so we should have a good fun and successful change. Not much went on this week other than a baptism we had of a girl her name is cinthya, her mom was an inactive member but we started teaching the kids and now things are going really good. The son still wants a few weeks but he will get baptized. Im excited for this change. Other than that not really anything going on.But i love you guys have a great week bye..

Hey fam.,
Well things sound good there. Thats cool that you got to see ross and trever. Yeah im pretty sure i wont have an accent i probably speak more english than im supposed to but then again it is a part of the missionary prog here to teach our comps english and its hard to pick up an accent here cause you get accents from all over mexico even here in d.f. there are like two different accents. So sorry about that ill have a gringo accent. As for the weight thing nope im pretty much still the same weight. I lost all of my muscle which got replaced by fat we dont eat what you would call very healthy. I probably have lost some hair actually i think i have, this mission thing gets a little stressful sometimes. Yeah sorry about the picture thing. Ill try to get some to you. Does ross have an accent? This week we had a baptism of a little girl lined up but her mom left the house a day before she got baptized and said that she wouldnt come back if she got baptized. So we are working really hard with her mom to try and help her understand and feel the importance of the true gospel. She is baptist. Other than that not much this week except they had a primary program. It was cool. I miss those i think in my mission i have only seen one or two i cant remember. But yeah so this week is thanks giving huh? whats evrybody doing? I hope its a way cool thanks giving. I love you guys. O and if you havent sent a package yet could you throw something special in there for my comp. I dont know whatever you think something that he could keep for a while. Or if not ill buy him something here. Whatever let me know. Well hasta luego. Bye

Hey fam.,
Guess what? Yep im back in the field. I got moved to a new area thats straight hills. Its cool though i feel good. My new comp is elder barrera he is from oaxaca(pronounced wahaca), mexico. He is way cool and he only has 3 months in the field. Ive had the chance to listen to every one of the area presidency in the last month. It was pretty cool. Things are going good and just trying to get my walking endurance back up cause for those three weeks i hardly did anything. The members are really cool here but they dont get along real well so we will have to do some activities or something so they can learn to get along. Thanks for all of the prayers. Ummm as for the b day and christmas thing. Huh i dont know just buy me something so i can open it when i get back. Or whatever you want. Well not much else to say except i love you guys and hope you have a fun. Week. Hast luego les queiro mucho. Bye

Hey fam. well still here in the offices not really doing anything. It sounds like i wont be going back to my area that i was in before this happened, i was hoping to be comps. with elder johnson. Thats crazy about that elder in elder curtis' mission. Well i pretty much polished off the laffy taffys. Yeah thats what it will do to me being in the offices i have nothing else to do so i just eat. And then i shared a lot of them. We had some elders stay here while they practiced to play some special hymns for an area seventy that came. We had a three day conference with him differents zones everyday but since i was with the secretaries they went to two of them. They were really good. Learned that love is really important in every aspect of life and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us more than we can understand. That hard work and determination can help us achieve any goal. And that if we pray specifically if it is something just that our prayers will be answered. O and ill be flying into sky harbor right? Theyll be ordering my ticket soon, so this would save them a phonecall.(if you could respond as soon as you can with the answer) Well i think thats all that i have to say so i guess ill talk to you later. Have a great week and dont forget to study your scriptures. They strengthen our testimonies and help us in our everyday life. Love you all. Later.
O and ross should be home in like a week shouldnt he? Please give him a hug for me and tell him i didnt get a letter to him.

Hey fam. What up?
So you got some snow huh? Thats cool it has been raining like no other here. Its been pretty chilly as well.Yeah so not much going on here im in the offices of the mission. Yeah so i dont even know whats going on in the area. I saw president fuentes today and he didnt tell me when i would be going back to the field. Im here in the offices with two elders elder campbell and elder vary. They had a baptism friday that i got to witness. But other than that i havent had any baptisms. Im stuck here with three pairs of clothes and thats it. So i wash about every two days. But other than that i have nothing to say. O yeah and there is an english ward that i attended this week i got to bare my testimony in english, that was interesting. But i love you guys so much and keep working hard. Have an awesome week. Later

Elder Crick ended up in the E.R. last Wed. with a hernia that couldn't be reduced. (pushed back in) They admitted him that night for sugery Thurs. morning and they repaired both sides by using a scope. He went into the mission home to recooperate. This is the letter we got on Monday.

Hey fam.
Well things are going good. I think im recovering quickly but who knows. thursday i go in and they take out my stitches. Yeah i'm walking around well ever since the first day. Just a little sore. Yeah talked with pres. fuentes today he said worry about recovering and then when you are recovered you can worry about the other stuff. It stinks cause on wednesday we found a golden family that is already ready to be baptized since they are family to some members they pretty much know everything. So im sure this weekend or the next there should be a few baptisms. Who knows if ill be there or not. They moved an elder johnson from arizona to my area. I dont know if when i get better if they are just going to put us in a threesome, move me to another area, or what. The new ward is awsome as you could tell. Some sisters that i didnt even know come and brought some flowers and some get well treats. Then the bishop came and all. Its fun cause we have to work in to wards in this area. one is way rich and the other is just good to work in but the in the rich one pretty much all of them speak english. But yeah other than that i cant tell you much since i was only there about a day and a half. Thanks for everything. o and the package got here im not sure what it has since its in my area but im sure ill enjoy every bit of it. Well love you guys so much. Have a good time. Later

Monday, October 19, 2009

Hey fam.
¿Que honda? So thanks for the pics. it looks nice. There is only one bathroom right? So yeah this passed weekend abraham and aaron got baptized and confirmed. It was a good service. Julio their dad was pretty sad that he didnt get to get baptized with them but hopefully soon he will. Well tomorrow are changes and i am getting changed. My new comp. will be elder gonzalez. Dont know him yet. I am going to an area called jacarandas. They say its pretty cool so well see.Yeah so what do you want me to bring back. Anything special. Im trying to look for some authentic mexican things but im in the city its all basically like the states but ill try to find something. Well im goind to miss this area i grew to love it. But heck thats how the mission is so o well. But yeah not much else to say these last couple of days have been pretty cold here which is weird cause last week it was like in the high 80s and low 90s all week. Crazy weather. Well im out so ill talk to you later love you guys and thanks for evrything that you do for me. have an enjoyable week and be happy.Later

What up fam.?
Well things sound pretty good there. Yeah so dont get into to much debt. Its better to have a small house than to be in over your head. Yeah so if you send a package could you put some laffy taffy, and maybe some water taffys in it? Yeah so i dont know where this change went time just goes by faster and faster. Next week are changes so who knows how those will go. This week was pretty good i dont know if i told you about julio, norma, abraham, and aaron yet but abraham and aaron should be getting baptized this weekend if all goes well. Julio and norma still have to get married so who knows if they will. Julio loves the church and is ready to get baptized but his wife norma doesnt know the doctrine yet. We just barely started teaching her and so she still doesnt want to get married. But hopefully we can get them married at least then later if she wants to get baptized she can. Anywho things are going pretty good here. Not much more to say except to tell you all how grateful i am for all you have done for me. We have the best family ever. I thank our heavenly father for it every day. Love you guys have an extemely extraordinarily awesome week. And what good did you do this week? Later.

Monday, October 5, 2009

Hey my fam.(the best fam in the universe),
Well yeah conference was awesome. I was a little mad i didnt get to hear elder hollands talk. The other missionaries said it was awesome. I guess ill just have to wait for the liahona to come out. Hugo is doing good couldnt put a date with him yet. He intoduced us to his mom and she is way cool. I think she will progress. The first lesson she was already asking about baptism. This week was pretty good we found a few new people that look pretty good. Yeah i cant really remember stuff from one day to the next. Thats probably why i dont write about zone conference and stuff. yeah i have gotten to know some elders from AZ, pretty well. One is elder bleak from camp verde, the other is elder boren from around tucson, elder mchardy from mesa, and the others i dont know. But there are a lot from az. I cant believe that we are already in october. I remember that this months with the hollidays flew by last year. So you havent sent me any pics of the house. Yeah i guess i deserve it since i never send pics. Yeah my bad. So how is the football team doing. How are keag. and derrick doing? So yeah just remeber violence doesnt get us anywhere and to serve one another. It was cool cause just last week i talked about service and the importance of obeying the commandment. I took my talk out of mosiah chap.2. You should read it. If everbody would just serve one another things would be a lot better. But now days everybody is just so caught up in their own lives that they dont have time to help those around. I think im going to start doing what that minister did when he would ask his kids everyday what good did you do today? Im soo grateful to have a family that serves. And hopefully we can continue to serve those around us. I love you guys sooooo much. Study the book of mormaon. Please. Have an awesome week. And be happy. Later.Elder Crick

Monday, September 28, 2009

yeah soo what up gang?
Hmmm where do i start. Well first the family cruz i got to attend their baptism and i got to baptize the dad and the son. It was way cool. With victor it is going to be really hard but more just cause he doesnt have much desire to leave it behind. There is an addiction program but he needs to go to get some help. I dont know it just stresses me out and makes me sad when they dont want to change, But we have a new investigator named hugo he is really cool. He took some discusions when he was in the states. He says every time we talk to him he feels the spirit so strong. He should be getting baptized here in a week or two. this ward is really cool. It isnt perfect because they almost never do their home and visiting teaching. But we are working on that. Well i cant really think right now but the ward sounds really cool. Well not much else to say except i love you guys. Have a great week. Later

Hey fam. what be happenin? So is the football team pretty good this year? It sounds like they are doing good. So who are some people that i would know that are in the ward? The area is good the work a little difficult but we have so good people that im pretty sure will accept. If you could please pray for victor, he is a really good guy but is addicted to huffing. If you pray for him to be able to quit and have the desire to turn his life around. He is dating a member and she is trying to help him all that she can but he also has to do his part. But yeah the Huerta Cruz family got married and batpized. It was awesome the dad was pretty much crying the whole time. It was way good and this week i saw them, they look so happy. They were a very strong family and very good people before they got baptized but now they just look complete and have a glow that they didnt have before. Well not much more than that has happened the independence day for mexico was last week so the work was a little slow. Hardly anybody in the street. But thanks for all you guys do for me. I feel so bad cause i havent sent anything to the larry martin fam, or sister eagar. And almost every month i get a post card from them. So if you could give me some ideas on what to do for them. Well have an awesome week love you guys.

Mon 9/14/09 4:36 PM
Well another niece, ill tell you what thats good stuff. Yeah my new comp is cool he is from puebla which is just a couple of hours away from mexico city. O yeah and yesterday that family of six got baptized. It was awesome. the dad was crying the whole time. I had the great privilege of baptizing him and the son. Elder owens the mom and their unlce baptized the daughter. this week should be interesting since the mexicans always get really crazy around their independence day. And pretty much try to pick fights with anybody that isnt mexican. Good stuff. So yeah things sound like they are going good, did you get things back in order in the house since the lightning struck. Its been raining like crazy here and flooding in some parts luckily im not in any of those parts. Not much else has been happening. Ill let you guys go now i love you guys so much. thanks for everything.

Hey fam.,
So things sound fun over there. Josh filled me in on the game. Cool stuff cool stuff. But yeah dont worry about the house just keep working and dont get sad. Everything will turn out good. Yeah tomorrow are changes again thats crazy. My comp is leaving and im am getting a new one named elder ruiz. Dont know him so ill let you know more about him later. Yeah and they are putting missionaries back into one of the two areas that we were working in, actually the area where the family lives. so i dont know if ill get to baptize them or not. They are scheduled to get married wednesday and then baptized on saturday. SO finally things are working out. This last week we have been working like crazy to get them a date to get married. Well just say it fue una loca semana. But im just so happy that they are getting baptized. To bad i wont be in their ward anymore. But thats life eh? Yeah we also almost got sturck by lightning it hit like 15 or 20 yards away from us. Lately it has been raining a ton with a lot of lightning and hail( dont remember how to spell that). But yeah things are great i was really thinking that me and my comp were going to stay together but nope. Well not much more to say........o yeah i got a letter from ross i miss that kid but yeah he sounds like he loves his mission. good stuff. Anyways ill let you go Love you guys more than i can express. Have a great week

Hey familia,
whats up? Hows are things going? So i have another nephew thats crazy. How many new nephews and nieces do i not know? Somebody let me know i cant keep count. And names that would be nice. Well things are going good its the last week of the change already. Only 4 more changes left. Crazy stuff. This week we should be baptising a family if we can get them married in time. We still need to make an appointment with the judge but i heard the process is pretty fast. O yeah i might be taking out like $90 to get them married. Thats what it costs and they just moved here so they dont really have a stable income. And in mexico less. But giving you a heads up. O yeah i also ate some monkey meat..............yeah that was interesting. It wasnt bad, just the thought of eating monkey amde me kind of squirmish. For other things happening here huh well cant really think about anything. Well nothing else sorry im pretty short winded when it comes to letters. Thanks for everything. I love you guys and hope you are happy.

hello my amazing family,
Well this week was good we are teaching a family(fam.huerta cruz) and they are awesome. They are programmed to get baptized in 2 weeks. They are way cool and since they have started coming to church and taking the lessons i have seen a huge change in them, especially the dad. They actually picked the date which hardly ever happens. If you can please pray for them. Yeah but my comp got me a little scared, he started feeling pretty bad about tuesday. And so i was just praying that it wasnt the swine flu. Turns out that it wasnt and now he is pretty much back to normal. But anyways today i ate some of the best carnitas in the world. They are pig tacos. Next time ill get a picture for you guys. MMMMMMmmm they are sooo good. So unhealthy but sooo good. I wish you could try them. O yeah and i ordered a warm up suit today, for sports, its like the basketball warm ups. But yeah they only cost 200 pesos When something like that in the states would cost like $150. An investigator makes them for a living. I buy a lot of stuff huh? Well i want to have some stuff to remember mexico and the people i got to know. Yeah im just really enjoying this stake. Its like my home in mexico cause i have been here basically my whole mission. And every sunday i get to see the people that i had the opportunity to teach and baptize, like a year ago. Its soooo awesome to see that they are still active and doing well. I really think its one of the greatest feelings i have felt in the mission. But yeah now im just rambling on and on. I just want you all to know how much i enjoy the letters and the support that you give me. Have an awesome week. Cuidense mucho.

¿Hola que tal? ¿Como les ha ido?
Hope you guys are doing fine. Sounds like a pretty eventful week. Thats crazy that jill is already in college huh? Well thats life i guess everybodies got to grow up. But yeah this week was cool we found a lot of cool people that i feel will get baptized soon. Actually today we taught one of the families lesson 2 which is the plan of salvation. Its cool to see how many things they learn and to be able to respond to their questions and doubts. We also had an activity again where we went to the visitors center. It was cool we watched the restoration. Not as many members went this time but there were a lot of investigators which is cool. Thanks for the prayers i can feel them working. Man its crazy only 6 more months from this thursday. Well this area i really like its just a friendly ward and the people are willing to listen. so its way cool it just doesnt seem like there is enough time to visit everybody. Its cool though its feels satisfying at the end of the day. Well i dont really have much to say, well like i ever do but anyways. Les quiero muchismo. Cuidense. Hasta luego.

Well things are good. A little crazy trying to coordinate with two wards but its alright. Just starting to get the hang of it. We assist the stake center where 4 wards assist. The same one i was in like 10 months ago. So i pretty much know half of the people there. So thats cool. Things are good. There are a lot of people that are ready to be baptized just need a little more support. If you could please pray for them so their hearts are softened and pray for us to know what to say to them so they can accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. o Yeah and we just got done shopping at a place called waldos. Everything is like a dollar. Its awesome. I bought some lindt chocolate for a dollar. I was like wow this stuff normally costs a ton. Anyways i also bought to handmade blankets. i think they are queen size. They are cool though and i got them both for 500 pesos. So i couldnt pass that up. Anyways have you guys gotten to feed the missionaries in a while. Cause you need to. And if you do treat them good. Alright. And if you have some references give them to the missionaries. Unlce alan maybe. haha well who knows if youve never asked them if they want to hear a message then they can never accept to hear one. Well love you guys a ton thank you so much for being an example to me and for raising me correctly. Even though i didnt always follow your counsels and i made mistakes. I now realize how important it is to have a family that teaches correct principles in the home I love you guys have a great week and good luck on the house.

That makes me soo happy that you guys are doing so well. I love good people that dont mind serving others. I dont know if thats how it is or i just dont see it often but here they dont hardly serve anybody else. They are kind of selfish i guess you could say. Well they help us in what ever we want but to others they just make excuses. Maybe im wrong but thats what ive seen the last 14 months. But anyways Well im in my new area now with my comp elder Alvarez. Yeah they told me rodriguez but its alvarez. He is way cool. We have two wards due to a lack of missionaries. The mtc down here was being remodeled so no missionaries could enter. But yeah we should have a ton of work. There a ton of people that are ready to get baptized but i dont know, i think they are scared or something. But yeah so if you could add in your prayers arturo, carlos, and claudia. But yeah it will be a little crazy for the next 6 weeks until the other missionaries come and take over the other ward. Hopefully we can get these two wards excited cause they are just kind of going through the motions. But things are way good down here. I love you guys a infinity times infinity. O and youll have to send some pics of the house. Inside and out. Have an awesome week. Les quiero mucho, cuidense.

Hey familyyyyy,

Well this was a pretty good week. We had two baptisms yesterday a mom(Francisca)and her son(Leonardo). She is a very humble woman with a lot of problems. She is a single mom with 3 kids. She works all day monday through saturday. Her kids havent been schooled very much and they dont know how to read, that is the mom and the 9 year old dont. The other two kids are 4 years and 4 months old. But she is an example of the importance that members have in missionary work. She was a reference from a sister that has been helping her a ton. The sister owns a little bakery/restaurant and she found the lady knew her situation gave her a job, found her an apartment and then invited her to church. Shortly after she started taking the lessons and was baptized. I have only known them about three weeks and i can already see the change in them. Also yesterday we had an activity to go to the visitors center. About 60 went. We took two buses it was cool. Not very many investigators went but that also wasnt the purpose of going. We were hoping that the members would be able to strenghten their testimonies of the restored gospel and remember why we live the the way we live. And then hopefully by helping them remember and being spiritually strengthened they will feel the desire to share the gospel. It turned out great though. Too bad i wont get to see the fruits of the activity cause changes are tomorrow. I am getting changed to an area called Granjas. My comp will be elder rodriguez. So ill tell you how things go. Good luck on the house hope you get close to finishing soon . Love you guys tons and tons. Later Elder Crick

Hey hey hey,
Well not much going on here as of now no more baptisms. This is the last week of changes so who knows who will be going or staying. No change in apartment we may not change, its more work to change. But anywho things are going good. We have an activity planned for this sunday to go to the visitors center and as of now about 90 have signed up to go. So hopefully it will be an awesome experience. And a lot are inviting families so some references should come from it. The weeks are just flying by right now next thing i know it will be friday again. O yeah we got to go to the temple that was awesome as it always is. There was also a infant stake conference they asked us to help they had trampolines and food and a ton of stuff. A lot of people walked in from the street wanting to know what was going on so we got a lot of references from that as well. O yeah did you get carpet down yet i cant remember? And when is brit. due? Its like in august isnt it? Any who sorry for the boring letter buts thats me. Thanks for being the best parents ever. Im soo greatful to have been raised in the church. I love you guys so much have an awesome week and keep up the good work. Later

Man sounds like things are going pretty good. Good stuff eh? Well sorry to disappoint you guys but this week nothing really happened. We had a 7 hour long zone conference on wednesday and then next thing i know the weeks over. We have alot of support from the ward and it is soo cool. We are planning an activity to go to the visitors center here a few weeks. The bishop already announced it in sacrament meeting and said that all members need to support this activity by bringing an investigator, inactive, or recent convert. So i think things will go really good with that. This ward is almost ready to split but they lack active priesthood holders, so hopefully we can activate some priesthood. Tomorrow we are also going to the temple sweet!!!!!!! I havent gone there for about 4 months. I need to buy some hymn books, i forgot mine in my last ward and we need to buy martha(she got baptized two weeks ago) a hymn book. So things are going good o yeah we also might change apartments since right now we dont even live within the area. And where we live is pretty ugly. A couple of nights ago i thought i was going to have to fight cause there was a group of kids out drinking and doing drugs in the street and i think they dared one of them to go fight me. He started to walk up behind us but then stopped. So nothing happened but yeah its kind of a lose lose situation cause if i fight then all of his friends jump in but if i dont then i get the crapped kicked out of me soo....ANyways just everyday stuff. I have been so blessed and protected. So dont worry. Love you guys. Have an awesome week.

hey,
hows it goin? well yeah this week was pretty good we had a baptism on the 4th. Martha got baptized. It was a lot of work. Satan was fighting pretty hard so we didnt have the baptism. First we get to the church and there is water still in the font( just a little) and it was way dirty. So we needed to drain it but didnt know where the switch was so we emptied it using buckets. Soo good its emtpy so we start filling it and the new water is coming out yellow so we only have like 2 hours before the baptism so we decide to baptize with the water like that. Then the water just stops the pump quit working. So we call our bishop and tell him to start filling the font at the other church. So we get to the other church and the font is dirty so we have to clean it and then we finally start filling it. Well we had the baptism planned for 7 but we ended up having it at 830. But it was awesome she was so happy and content after the baptism. But yeah it was cool, and a good 4th. After we were going to go order some pizza but didnt have time so we just went and ate some Burger King. It was pretty good. Not much more going on except we are already in the 4th week of the change and we have changes every 6 weeks. Sounds like things are going pretty good there huh? Well at least with the house and all. Thats awesome. Did you get some pics from the 4th? Youll have to send me some right? Well love you guys a million times a million and even more. Have an extraordinarily awesome week.

Whoo hoo,
Gettin some work done up there arent ya? ....but sounds good well maybe youll get to the point to where you can move in and then stop paying rent on the trailer that way youll have a little more extra money to put into the house. Yeah well this week was cool we found a lot of new people that are excited to learn more and are progressing quickly. Ill give you updates on them as they progress. Hopefully a 17 year old kid will get baptized his name is angel. The problem is he hasnt come to church in a couple of weeks so well see how it goes. But yeah we went to this outside market( they call them tiangis) But yeah i found two pairs of brand new dr. martens for 600 pesos. Yeah im not sure if they are stolen or what but i couldnt pass up the deal. Yeah im pretty happy with that buy. We also have the investigator named martha. She is about 35 i think and we have been trying to baptize her for about two weeks , but she has some friends that tell her things and tell her that we worship the devil and stuff....yeah just a bunch of stuff when in reality they are the ones that worship satan. But yeah if you could include her in your prayers please she needs a lot of help. But yeah it was a great week and it flew by. I think this saturday for the 4th we are going to order some pizza or something so it should be fun. Well not much more to say i love you guys soooo much. que tengan buena semana y siempre sean felizes. Bye.

¿Que honda mi querida familia?Well im doing great. I got changed to an area called aquiles serdan. My new comp is elder arzola from chihuahua. Hes tight we are getting along really well. And the area is awesome we have a lot of people that we are taking the lessons and a bunch that are progressing. And the ward is supportive which doesnt usually happen. I think it will be an awesome change. And they built a new stake center, that was just dedicated like 2 weeks ago. Ill try to get some pics of it it is huge and wayyyyy nice. I thought i would have more to say but i cant think right now. Its been raining all week which is nice cause it makes it a lot cooler. Im just really excited about this area and i think itll be a fun one. The counselor to pres. fuentes( mission pres.) is in the ward. O and im giving english classes again which i like doing. Its always fun to get to know people. The only funny thing is that we dont even live in our area we have to walk like 10 min. before entering our area so that gets a little annoying. And we live right next door to a bar so every fri and sat. the have music blasting until about 4 in the morning ill have to admit that that makes me a little tired. But yeah everything is just great and thanks for the pics of the house. Well gotta go love you guys. Have and awesome week. And ill try to get you some pics

Well not much is going on this week. Tomorrow are changes yeah i have no idea as to whats happening, our stinkin leader was supposed to call last night but didnt so who knows. But yeah we baptized a 13 year old boy yesterday. His whole family was baptized about 10 years ago and then went inactive. Hopefully this time theyll stay. But yeah poor kid was deathly afraid of the water, i think he had a bad childhood experience. I dont know but it took a few tries before we could get him under. Sounds like it was an eventful week. Anyways things are good here its pretty hot but its all good. Just kinda feel stuck not knowing whether to pack or not. Sorry i dont have much to say. Hope you guys get everything worked out with g mas house. O yeah and you should send me some pics of the house. Dad said you painted it last week. Well love you guys have a fun time and dont forget to read your sciptures.

Thats what i like to hear.... a little progress on the house. Yeah but this week was pretty good. We found an inactive family and are hoping to get them to come to church constantly. They also have a son who hasnt been baptized. We have a date for this saturday. Hope all goes well. We also found 2 ladies a mom and her daughter. When we taught them they already said they know this is the true church. They might need a little work on the word of wisdom but i think they will get baptized in a week or two. Their names are susana and suzi. Yeah this week was pretty good. I was looking forward to today i felt a little worn out. But all is good. It also got hot again...no cloud cover at all this week. I feel like my nose is going to fall off it got burnt so bad. Anywho other than that not much is going on. O yeah and we got a new mission leader for the ward. He is a convert of only 6 months. He is way awesome. We actually share the same time in the ward cause my first day in the area we found them they were moving in and it was actually their first day in the apartment. So i feel pretty confortable with them. The family is way cool. But our old leader didnt do anything and was less active, i dont know why but recent converts are usually a lot better members down here. The older members usually get really pridefull and then stop coming cause somebody offended them. But yeah crazy members i dont know what theyre thinking. Well thats about it thanks for the update on the sports. GO ASU!!!! Love you guys tons and tons. Have fun. Hasta la proxima

Hola hola hola,So hows it goin? Yeah we too have been getting a lot of rain. Well at least it rains a little every day. O yeah i forgot to tell you i got the jerky a few weeks ago. Yeah maybe that wasnt such a good idea to send. I already ate it all. Well i did share some of it. Had to prove to some mexican elders how good it really is. They loved it. But yeah we live on the very bottom floor. The apartment is i think 5 or 6 stories high. But yeah as for this week it was a little frustrating we couldnt find hardly anybody. But it seems like the people we do find even though they may never get baptized are in a great need of a message about the gospel. For example yesterday we went to an appointment that we had made from knocking doors earlier in the week and she didnt answer the door. So we went to look for some other people and we were passing by her apartment again 3 hours later and we were like lets go see if she is home. SO we get up to the door and we heard fighting not just yelling like fighting. So for some reason the husband opened the door and saw us then he ran into the room. So the wife was like come in please please. SO we walked in feeling a little uncomfortable with what had happened. But we shared a message and she thanked us because she was just really stressed out confused and was just hit by her husband. So we left her peaceful. But like i say we find people that are in desprate need for a message. But anyways jill should just find some more roomates to rent with them. I mean if there are two bedrooms her and macie could stay in one and the others in the other. But yeah thats sweet that aunt tina is moving in to grandmas. Well love you guys a ton. Thanks for evrything.

hows the bunch?Haha well sounds way busy there. Man i wanted to be there for jills grad but o well thats life huh? Yeah the karla, the lady i told you about, yeah she is already a member, she was baptized at the age of 15 and since hasnt gone to church. SO basically is like an investigator, but yeah she has an 8 year old daughter and a friend that we taught last time. The friend sounds really interested, she is catholic and has been thinking that the catholic church does some things that arent right. So yeah hopefully well at least get her to realize what the truth is. Since being out here just lets me know, how much everything that the true church of Christ does, makes sense. The great apostasy makes sooo much sense that when people truely understand it they try to obtain to the truth which then leads them to gaining a strong testimony about the restoration of the gospel and church of Jesus Christ. But any ways things are good here not many inerested people but we just had a meeting with elder alonzo from the area 70 and we will be working a ton with the ward to help activate less actives, ordain the ones that dont have the priesthood, and help those who havent been through the temple get their endowments and get sealed as families. Our ward right now maybe has at most 70 active members with 400 memebers in the ward. So yeah things arent to hot as far as the activity of the ward goes. But yeah we will spending half of our time with that and the other half finding and teaching investigators. O and i think it was tuesday or wednesday or maybe thursday haha i dont remember but there was an earthquake in puebla, but we felt it pretty strongly here in D.F. it was the second one ive been through. Luckily they havent been very strong. But everybodys all good i dont think there was much damage caused in puebla well as far as i know. Well out of things to write love you guys sooo much enjoy the summer.

Hola,¿Que honda mi hermosa familia? Yeah thats crazy that jill is graduating. People are getting older and its wierd. Yeah you guys best be gettin me some pics of jills grad and all. Yeah this week we found a 25 year old single mom with two kids. She seems interested and i think she feels that the true gospel will help her kids when they are growing up and with helping raising them. I just hope all goes well with her its been soo long it seems like since weve actually had somebody interested. In this area we have most success looking for less actives. Or inactives. Cause at least if they dont live there we are able to contact the person that does live there and teach them. Yeah but things are going better. I think this week will be a good one. So did you guys do anything fun with jodi and dan? So dad when does the overhaul end? It seems like you have been working straight for a month or two. Yeah but everthing is pretty normal here now. Its been cloudy and raining off and on all week. It is awesome...a little break from the heat. Well gotta go but love you guys have fun....be happy and take care. Love youuuu..Elder Crick

Hey fammmmmm.,What up? Im fine, no sickness for me or my comp. at least not yet all is good here. Well yeah this flu thing is pretty crazy huh. Me and my comp just barely heard about it thursday when the government shut down all schools. Yeah yesterday was different we had no church services and we had to stay in the house all day. Yeah our president told us to clean our house extremely well. Noi trash, mop, sweep, and we need some lysol(yeah dont remember how to spell that). Yeah right now we are just waiting on orders from the pres. So who knows last night they said that tomorrow we were going to be working but who knows. Yeah not really much more going on. Still no success this change. And this is the last week of the change. But yeah its about time i heard that some progress was being made on the house. Congrats!!!! haha Yeah SO Tyson is home ........... Ill have to write him. Sorry about the short letter but i guess by now youre used to it. Love ya guys tons and tons. What up fam?Well umm not much to say all of the people we have found dont even live in mexico city, they are just here on vacation. BUt they were good lessons where the holy ghost testified to them that this is true, so hopefully at least a seed was planted. We also had a really cool experience when we were knocking. Well we knock this door and this 21 yr old kid comes out. Turns out that was a business buildiing and not a house. Anyways he comes out really angry, i introduce myself and he says well frankly im not even going to listen to you if i let you teach me something so its better if you just not waste your time. Then he goes can i ask you a question i said sure and he just starts going how come americans are so racist? they just kick mexicans around and treat em like crap and a bunch of other stuff. So first elder Zamora starts talking to him really calmly, explaining the realty of it and why some people just have bad experiences when they go to the states and others prosper. Then after talking for a while and a few other questions. He calms down and says you know what i like you guys i really do. He then thanked us for answering his questions and said you know i would like to hear your message. So we shared it and he was really interested. It was a way cool lesson and he felt something i know he did. Sadly he was just a security guard there and they switch them every month or so to other areas. So we were truely guided to this door cause that was his last night there and then he was getting transfered. And hopefully that experience will lead him to want to know more and someday some other elders will knock on his door. But yeah good stuff. Umm yeah o and thanks for the videos. Im sure the jerky will be here this week. So i cant wait to eat it. Well i love you guys sooo much thanks for everything. Have an awesome week. Later

Hey fam.Yeah easter here hahaha there wasnt one. But yeah it just makes me sooooo angry they cant even have one day of respect. Well they worship the virgin a lot on this day i dont know why. Beats me but yeah then the rest ummm they have an event where they do a scene reenactment. Starting with the judment of Jesus to when he gets crucified. I dont know about the resurrecion. But yeah they choose somebody to be Jesus like 6 months before and he gets prepared and then he walks like a looooong ways with his cross and getting whipped(actually whipped so that he bleeds) at the same time. Then they hang him on the cross, here they just use ropes to tie him up, other places they actually nail him to the cross. Yeah i havent seen one so i dont know what all they actually do. Yeah im just glad to know the true gospel and that none of that is necessary. But man i wish it was cold here, its been so hot and dry. And we are running out of water so they just pick random days to shut off the water, so some times you wake up with no water. But we set some apart in buckets just in case. Umm virginia went on vacation so we werent able to teach her. Hopefully this week. Then this week we taught a lot of people but they all were just visiting. But hopefully we were able to plant a little seed so they can be interested and excited about the restored and true gospel. Yeah that was about it and dont think i have anything else. But i love you guys. I hope all is greatly and awesomely wonderful. Love you and have a great week

Hey fam,Whats up? Yeah the conference was way good. I got to watch evrything but the first session on saturday. Yeah all of the talks were sooo good. I loved how there were a lot based on trials and hard parts of life. Those will always come but basically like they were saying bring it on. No matter if its a trial or the easiest time of our life we have to enjoy every bit of it. I love how positive they always are. Yeah but good stuff. Anyways sound like itll be a party up there for the weekend. Here itll probably be a little crazy basically everybody takes off for two weeks and parties at least thats what the people say. But well see what happens. But yeah as for the comp. we get along really well. This area is still a little hard but hopefully we can be lead to the people that are prepared. We have a lady that was looking promising her name is virginia. She is Christian so well see what happens. The thing is she prayed and recieved an answer but when she went to church she was a little bored cause shes used to having a rock and roll concert in her church. But God gave her the answer now its just her choice. But yeah other than that we dont have any progressing. Well im out of things to say. But i love all of you sooooo much and thank you for all of the prayers and support. I pray for you guys everyday. Have an awesome easter. Youll have to get me some pictures from the easter gathering right? Love ya hasta luegoElder Crick

He was born in Peru but moved to the U.S. when he was 5 so he speaks both spanish and english. But yeah i dont really have anything new to say sorry this is way boring huh well i guess thats probably how every one of my letters are but after this im going to see if i can send you some pics. But if i cant dont get mad ill just give it my best shot. Well love you guys tons and tons. Have an awesome week. And enjoy the snow for me.

hey fam.Well tomorrow are changes. Im staying and my comp is leaving. My new comp will be elder Zamora. Ill give you more details when i get to know him a little better. Yeah i really thought i was going to leave and so did my comp but nope. O well there is always a reason. Well this past sunday we had two baptisms. Bro. Vicente baptized his daughter and his mom. It was an awesome experience. Um not really much else going on just waiting for the changes. But yeah thanks for all of the prayers, you guys are the best. Soo are you even working on the house or is it just staying there getting filled with dirt? I need to send some pictures but i dont have a cable. Sorry. O yeah you guys need to send me some Jerky, I guess its my turn to send you guys something huh? Well maybe sometime ill send you some candy or whatever. Yeah i got my hammock.......Its huge there is no way itll fit in the house. You guys need to plant some trees on the property. I wanted it in black gold and white but the gold is more of a copper but its still cool. But yeah hope things are going good back there. Love ya guys .

Friday, March 20, 2009

Hey fam.,Well things sound crazy there, i was expecting the house to be finished when i get back but i dont think so.haha I wish it was cold here the heat is killing me. Well other families in teaching no not really, well at least not any more that are progressing. But this weekend will be cool cause the family that we found that only the dad is a member. Well yeah we got the mom baptized and confirmed. And past sunday the dad got the priesthood so hes going to baptize his daughter(Eva) and his mom(evangelina) its going to be sweet. But yeah i love this family the are sooo awesome and i know will endure to the end. Last night they made us some real steaks!!!! The dad(Vincente) says to me we prepared something speacial for you guys that will remind you of arizona. They were awesome but im so mad i just started getting a little sick my throat swelled up so it hurt to eat the steak. But heck thats life huh? But yeah for the money situation umm well this is what happened they give us $80 or 800 pesos and then $20 or 200 pesos for transport. But since the dollar shot up we got 1200 pesos and no transport and then told us that they are only going to give us 800 pesos so that would be like $60. So i dont know sometimes i have enough money and sometimes no. But today i get the hammock i let you know how it turned out. Well for the happiness part im happy, just ready for a new companion. And for the city i hate it i have no respect for their customes because they are so out of control(everything against the teachings of Christ) that im convinced this is the first city that will be destroyed. I love the people though well the ones i get to know....... really get to know becuase they are the ones humble enough to accept the true teachings of jesus christ. Love you guys soooo much hope you have an aweosome week. Les quiero mucho

But yeah with the family, well the dad is a member inactive, but we baptized the mom and hopefully this week the dad can recieve the priesthood and baptize his daughter and mom. That would be awesome. But yeah you guys will have to send some pictures of the trailer. Yeah i can get into my blog. Sorry about the pics ill try to get some to you. I just need a cable or a comp that can insert an SD card. But yeah so is it still cold there? Ive been sweating my buns off this whole month. Hola,Well yeah sadly the 11 year old boy is not getting baptized his mom wont give him permission. But yeah i wish it was cold down here cause this whole week it has been so hot and no clouds at all. And the sun just burns me it doesnt make me very tan. But yeah this week we brought a family to church. The dad is a member of 18 years but i think has been inactive for about 15, so we have his address and we went to check it and he wasnt there but his wife was. And so we have been teaching his wife, who i think is pretty excited, and we invited her to church along with her two little girls, one is 11 and the other is 3. But when we passed by the dad was there too and he said im going to go with wife to church and then the dads mom lives there too and so she came too. SO hopefully this family(Guzman Lopez) Will feel a need for the gospel in their lives. SO if you could just pray for them. But other than that this week has been pretty tough just nobody that wants to listen. Hopefully this week will be better. But yeah things are good only three weeks left in the change. O the $70 i took out cause im buying a hammock that a member is hand making for me. Its huge just the part to lay on is 3 meters so like almost 10 feet and then altogether its about 5 meters. But yeah the dollar is almost at 15 pesos so i guess the economy is doing pretty bad huh? But yeah thats all i have to say thanks so much for all the support and prayers. Love you guys. Hasta Luego

Hey,Yep we sure had a baptism. It was awesome the ward gave us a lot of support, i think because they havent had a baptism for a while and so they were really excited. But yeah it was awesome. Then we have been teaching a 11 year old boy and he was at the baptism and after he asked when we were going to have his. So we are hoping for this next sunday. We need permission from his mom first, so well see. Oh and i gave him the book of mormon that the primary gave me. His name is Axel and i have never had an investigator let alone an 11 year kid ask such questions. He is way smart and way excited and get this he prayed and asked if joseph smith was a true prophet and if the book pf mormon is true and got his answer. So he already has a testimony. Its sweet but it all depends on his mom. But yeah this was a good week. Oh and i got the candy yeah i ate it in like a day. But yeah are you guys still working on the house? When are Jordan and Nona going to move in? Well thanks for all you do and for your prayers. I am so grateful to have an awesome family. Well not much more to say. Love you guys and take care Elder Crick

Well,The Cards almost did it. Well yeah not much has been going on. This area is really weird we think somebody is a good investigator but then we return and they dont want anything or we have a baptismal date and then their husbands show up and tell them that they cant do it. Its sooo frustrating but well thats the mission. But yeah just not much success as of lately but im glad you guys are doing good and pray for you every day. And well not really much to say here im good. Changes are next week and who knows what will happen i really dont think either of us is going but you never know. hey fam,wow things are sure going huh? well this week was awesome we were knocking doors and we got to the last door and i almost didnt knock it cause it looked like it was just for storage but then i heard some plates and spoons bang and so i knocked it. Then this lady walked and i dint even have to say anything she goes oh i have been waiting for you guys to come by- Turns out her husband is in the u.s. and while there got baptized and told her that she has to find the elders to come and teach her so when he gets back the can get married and sealed. Yeah it was awesome and we found a few other ones that look promising. This area is tough but the lord puts the people that are ready in our path. Well again i dont have much time to write im sorry but just wanted to share that one with you guys. Love you so much youll have to tell me how the cardinals do. Take careElder Crick

Hey fam.The family didnt come to church that was a little frustrating. They were looking promising but sometimes the people know the church is true but dont want to change their old traditions.Oh yeah before i forget i did get those packages thanks its sweet. Whos idea was that? Well this area needs a lot of work the people to like to keep commitments here. But with a little faith they can do anything. The other thing is that almost all of the people that are here live in apartments and so they only live here for three or four months sometimes. Yeah did you send some stamps with the package? I really have no idea where to buy stamps. Wow thats so crazy jill will be graduating is that true? Well i guess people are just growing up huh? Love you guys a ton more than you can imagine, you better get your year supply ready and use some of the old stuff or throw it away. Les extraño y les quierro mucho. Take care

Well the new area is good we found a family on saturday and they came to church the next day, a family of four so im hoping and praying all goes well with them, they seemed really interested so well find out in a while. Well Elder Perez is cool he is a convert well kind of his parents joined when he was four. He is from mexico in a state that borders guatemala, he isnt a leader and he has been out for almost 15 months. We have a big apartment and its pretty nice. I think ill place that bom soon cause one of the kids that went to church with us is really interested and loves to read, he is 9. SO it should be perfect. The post office a huh well i just dont know where they are and mexico city is sooo big that it might take a hour just to get to one. But yeah gotta go love ya guys hope things keep going well. Hey well i didnt get the pic well at least it wont wont show up on this computer. But its a little tough me and my comp elder perez are new to the area and so we kind of are starting from scratch. At least the memebers are really supportive so that helps a lot. the area basically is made up of apartment buildings so that will get annoying fast. But i thought kenny already had a relative in the mission elder shockey i think. But yeah ill look out for elder south. Is that guy still going to buy the house? Oh yeah did you ever send some stamps? Cause i cant really send letters to anyone cause i dont have any stamps. Well not much going on we found a few good investigators this week but mostly we were getting to know the members so ill let you know how the next week goes. Well love you guys very much and sorry im not that good about taking pictures so ill try a little harder.
Mon 12/29/08 10:52 PM
Yeah you guessed right my letter will be a little shorter even than normal. But yeah tom. are changes im getting a new comp. Ill let you know the details next week. Ummm yeah well have to figure something out for the next time cause that is rediculous. But yeah we dont have to pay anything on the cell phone but maybe on the phone that i used to call directly im think maybe 10-20 bucks. But yeah dont worry.Yeah well not much to say til i get to the new area. Love you guys have a happy new year. And take care
